I have Finished my Celtic Solstice Quilt and I Love it!
If you missed my post about making this quilt you can read up on it here, and here are a few photos from that post
Here is the top just before I loaded it onto the frame
This was the first row of quilting
Now the second row is quilted,, oh the tiny micro stipple :)
And here she is, all done, and beautiful, I really love this quilt and I’m very happy with how it turned out
Heres a close up
Now for the most exciting news of all,,, I had posted these photos in several quilting groups I’m a member of and I have to say I was overwhelmed (in a Very good way) with the amount of comments I received, like literally hundreds of beautiful comments, with several saying I need to enter this in a quilt show. While I was quilting this I never once gave entering a show a thought although quilt shows have been on my mind for the future, I thought that show quilts may be possible to consider in a few years.
I did recieve quite a few emails to let me know that the AMQA (Australian Machine Quilters Association) show entry dates had been extended, they were like big hints hahah and I decided well why not send off the details and see what happens, BUT I thought if I’m going to enter my Celtic Solstice then I may as well also for my Jagged Quilt as well.
They were Both accepted WhooooHooo
I can’t even describe how happy I was when I found out they were both accepted :) I have since made hanging sleeves, quilt labels and printed labels for the cloth quilt bags, they are both ready to be sent off to Adelaide for the show, which is on 3rd Oct – 6th Oct 2014.
Thank you so much to all who encouraged me to enter, your comments gave me the confidence and little push to do so and I’m very grateful for that :) Also Thank you to Bonnie Hunter from Quiltville for designing such an amazing quilt pattern – Celtic Solstice, and Riley Blake designs for the Jagged Pattern which I Love :)
Are you going to the AMQA show?
Thanks for reading
